About This Position

Work location will primarily be at the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge’s visitor center at 6987 Headquarters Road Marion, IL 62959. Volunteer tasks will be primarily outside work including: mowing, power washing, weed eating, painting, trash clean up, facilities maintenance, assisting with public events and assisting and possibly include some light carpentry.

 In exchange for work completed, the refuge will provide volunteer with a full hookup camper pad, laundry facility, work vehicle and tools. Minimum work hours are 24 hours per week per volunteer. The refuge is seeking volunteer to commit to 4 months minimum of work. Longer time period is also desired.
