Volunteer Position Overview
About This Position
The office operations coordinator (volunteer) at the Tucson sub-office for Arizona Ecological Services Field Office will welcome visitors, open the door for regular cleaning, check the mail, and accept packages on behalf of staff.
The volunteer will also oversee making sure vehicle maintenance is completed in a timely fashion and will assist staff in dropping off and picking up vehicles for service appointments. In their downtime, the volunteer will organize office storage rooms, which are in need of extra TLC, due to recent staff turnover. This position is key to providing a quality customer service to our partners and will assist staff biologists that have heavy workloads.
Qualifications:
Pleasant manner, patience, dependability, desire to represent USFWS, ability to drive and get in and out of high-clearance vehicles (pick-up truck, large SUV), ability to bend and pick up materials weighing between 25 – 50 lbs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Greet visitors
· Open the door for regular cleaning and packages
· Check the mail
· Conduct vehicle maintenance
· Organize Office Storage and Common Room Areas
· Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, assisting with public use programs and data entry.
No lodging of any kind (Bunkhouses, RV Spots/Hookups, Camping) is available. Applicants will need to be local or secure their own housing/lodging/RV Hookup. Applicants who do not have a Tucson address will need to note how they will acquire their own lodging in their application. If this is not addressed, their applications will be automatically declined.
