COURSE SESSION
Target Audience:
Field biologists interested in using a mobile device to capture field data and locations for use with ArcGIS.
Summary and Objectives:
Use current technology to learn methods for capturing field-based observations on a mobile device and exporting the data for use in other applications. This 3-day intermediate level course provides hands-on experience with multiple GIS applications (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Collector, Survey123) and covers the entire field data collection workflow, from geodatabase design to compilation of outputs. Mobile hardware will be provided for use in class.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Design and create a geodatabase based on your project's objectives.
- Build a web map and data entry form for point, line and polygon features; - Use a mobile device to capture feature location and attributes.
- Use resulting data in ArcGIS Online, or download for use in additional applications.
Prerequisites:
FWS-CSP7102 GIS Introduction - ArcGIS Pro; or FWS-CSP7103 Transitioning to ArcGIS Pro; or the equivalent.
