Introduction to Conservation Genetics

Summary and Objectives:  

This course is designed to familiarize you with a number of the basic terms and concepts used in the field of conservation genetics. It can serve either as an introductory genetics class or as a basic genetics refresher for those with previous genetic training. During the course, you will have many opportunities to explore the basics of conservation genetics as you work through a series of real-life case studies.  

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Explain basic concepts in genetics, applicable to conservation science.
