COURSE SESSION
Target Audience:
Experienced non-motorized operators who have completed the Non-Motorized Module or approved equivalent.
Summary and Objectives:
The MOCC Non-Motorized Module Instructor Course is targeted toward experienced MOCC Non-Motorized operators who have completed the Non-Motorized Module or approved equivalent. Since the primary objective is to qualify individuals to present the MOCC Non-Motorized Module to other DOI personnel, the course stresses on-the-water instructional techniques and classroom presentations. This course is only offered in an On-the-Job (OJT) format during the conduct of a MOCC Non-Motorized Module and can only be scheduled through the Regional or Bureau Watercraft Safety Coordinator.
MOCC Non-Motorized instructors who have historically instructed staff in these specialized subject areas (or exceeding the standards of the specific module) should seek recognition as a module instructor from their respective bureau watercraft lead. Requests for historical recognition should be made by the instructor through their supervisor and documented MOCC instructor level, experience and the courses taught.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Train personnel in instructional techniques and presentations and qualify them to serve as MOCC Non-Motorized Module instructors.
- Review with attendees, the classroom and on-the-water requirements of the MOCC Non-Motorized Module, emphasizing instructional goals and objectives.
- Familiarize attendees with how to conduct the training safely and efficiently.
