MOCC Open Water Module Instructor Course

Target Audience:

Experienced MOCC operators who have completed both the Open Water Module and the Motorboat Operator Instructor Certification Course (MOICC) or approved equivalent.

Summary and Objectives:

The MOCC Open Water Module Instructor Course is targeted toward experienced MOCC operators who have completed both the Open Water Module and the Motorboat Operator Instructor Certification Course (MOICC) or approved equivalent. Since the primary objective is to qualify individuals to present the MOCC Open Water Module to other DOI personnel, the course stresses on-the-water instructional techniques and classroom presentations. This course is only offered in an On-the-Job (OJT) format during the conduct of a MOCC Open Water Module and can only be scheduled through the Regional or Bureau Watercraft Safety Coordinator. 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Train personnel in instructional techniques and presentations and qualify them to serve as MOCC Open Water Module instructors.
• Review with attendees, the classroom and on-the-water requirements of the MOCC Open Water Module, emphasizing instructional goals and objectives.
• Familiarize attendees with how to conduct the training safely and efficiently.
