ʻAkikiki

An ʻakikiki is one of several forest birds native to Hawaiʻi that is listed under the Endangered Species Act. Hawaiʻi's forest birds face the threat of extinction due to avian malaria, a disease that is transmitted by invasive mosquitoes.
