Project Description
Collaboration with the Summit Lake Paiute Tribe and Nevada Department of Wildlife to reduce cover of invasive annual grasses with herbicide application, with native seeding when needed, that will improve overall rangeland conditions in and around core sagebrush sagebrush
The western United States’ sagebrush country encompasses over 175 million acres of public and private lands. The sagebrush landscape provides many benefits to our rural economies and communities, and it serves as crucial habitat for a diversity of wildlife, including the iconic greater sage-grouse and over 350 other species.
Learn more about sagebrush habitats in northwestern Nevada. Rangeland habitat quality will be increased, wildland fire risk decreased while defending these core sagebrush habitat areas. Selected areas in south-central Sheldon NWR will also be included. OR and NV leveraged delivery funding.
