Overview

Cyanea pinnatifida, a member of the Campanulaceae (bellflower) family, is a shrub, usually unbranched, from 0.8 to 3 m (2.6 to 9.8 ft) tall. Leaves are 25 to 61 cm (10 to 24 in) long by .6 to 50 cm (6.3 to 20 in) wide and are deeply cut into two to six lobes per side. Flowers occur in clusters of 8 to 15. Sepals are fused to form a tube 10 to 13 mm (0.4 to 0.5 in) long with small triangular lobes at the tips. The petals are greenish-white with purple stripes and are about 5 cm (2 in) long and4 to 5 mm (0.2 in) wide. Fruits have not been described.
