Overview
Labordia pumila, a member of the Loganiaceae (logan) family, is a sparingly branched shrub with stems that are sharply angled or slightly winged. Leaves are pale and glaucous (bluish gray or green) on the lower surface, elliptic-obovate, 4 to 10.5 cm (1.6 to 4 in) long, and 2 to 4.5 cm (0.8 to 1.8 in) wide. Up to 15 flowers are borne in sessile cymes (flower clusters in which each flower stem ends in a single flower and other flower stems form below and to the side), with subequal calyx lobes, an orange corolla that is 15 to 16 mm (0.5 to 0.6 in) long, with the tube that is not, or only slightly, flaring. Capsules are ovoid-trigonous (triangular cross-section), 9 to 14 mm (0.4 to 0.6 in) long, and 6 to 8 mm (0.2 to 0.3 in) in diameter.
