Even a River Monster Starts Out Small

It's hard to believe that these sturgeons were too small to be stocked out with their siblings. While on display at the hatchery's public aquarium, they have grown into the mini-river monsters you see today. This fish and four others were stocked into the French Broad River, NC with this year's fish.
