Edenton National Fish Hatchery Staff Test New Kettle
Staff from Edenton National Fish Hatchery were happy to try out their new "test" kettle. The staff worked alongside contractors and engineers to design a kettle that would work best for the fish raised in the southeast region.
The kettle is a catch basin at the bottom of a pond. As the pond is drained by staff, the fish collect in the kettle and can be harvested out of the pond. Based on our test, staff recommended changes to the design team so improvements can be made for the remaining 30 kettles that will be constructed at the hatchery.
