A Missouri Man Indicted for Excavating a Prehistoric Native American Site

Johnny Lee Brown was charged in an 11-count indictment returned under seal by a federal grand jury in Kansas City, Missouri.  He is accused of allegedly excavating Native American archeological resources from federal lands and causing more than $300,000 in damages.  The large, prehistoric Native American site dates back to the Late Archaic Period (3,000-5,000 years ago).
