Erwin NFH celebrates its inaugural open house
On Saturday, May 11th Erwin National Fish Hatchery and the Friends of Erwin National Fish Hatchery hosted the inaugural Spring Open House. Approximately 400 participants were in attendance over the course of the four hour event. Visitors at the hatchery were able to tour the facility, feed the fish, create fossil casts, create custom bags of native seed mixes, make mothers day crafts, and listen to informational talks about spiders, bats, and native pollinators. Additionally, several children earned their Junior Ranger badge!
We would like to send a special thank you to East Tennessee State University and Gray Fossil Site for all of their assistance with the event. We can't wait to host another!
