COURSE SESSION
Target Audience:
The target audience for the DOI READ curriculum includes DOI and non-government employee with 0-10 years' experience (not as a READ). The employee will have background in natural and/or cultural resources. Examples of occupations included in the target audience are (and not limited to): a contaminants specialist, a wildlife biologist, or an assistant manager.
Summary and Objectives:
The DOI READ Intermediate course provides extensive information on the legal frameworks used to support and guide recommendations a Resource Advisor may give to an Incident Command in order to protect or mitigate damage to natural and cultural resources.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify a broad spectrum of natural and cultural resources that are relevant to a hazard incident without respect to geography.
- Identify the information you need to make assessments.
- Identify and provide guidance on relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks to inform Incident Command decisions.
- Provide time sensitive assessments (evaluations) and/or recommendations.
Pre-Requisite:
It is highly recommended that you complete DOI Resource Advisor (READ) Basic Course prior to taking this course.
