There are times when we all need to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. You can do that at the Chickasaw NWR. You may enjoy observing the refuge from the viewing tower, exploring trails, driving the roads in search of wildlife, or making memories by hunting alongside a friend or family member.

About Us
Established in 1985, the refuge gets its name from the Chickasaw Indians, who historically occupied portions of west Tennessee, including Lauderdale County in which the refuge is located.
What We Do
The refuge practices various management techniques to provide optimum habitat for wintering waterfowl. Refuge lands offer different habitats for a diversity of wildlife species.
Our Species
Chickasaw National Wildlife Refuge is especially important for migratory birds. However, there are so many other wildlife species to see at the refuge.
