2022-2023 Station-Specific Hunting and Sport Fishing Final Rule
The 2022-2023 Station-Specific Hunting and Sport Fishing Final Rule makes changes at the following national wildlife refuges.
California
- San Diego National Wildlife Refuge: Open dove, quail, rabbit, and mule deer hunting for the first time.
Indiana
- Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge: Expand existing migratory bird, upland game, and big game hunting and sport fishing to new acres.
Illinois
- Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge: Expand existing migratory bird hunting to new acres.
Maine/New York
- Great Thicket National Wildlife Refuge: Open migratory bird, upland game, and big game hunting for the first time.
Maine
- Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge: Open turkey hunting and close existing quail and pheasant hunting.
Maryland
- Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge: Open coyote hunting on acres already open to other hunting and expand existing migratory bird and big game hunting to new acres.
- Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge: Open coyote hunting and expand existing big game hunting.
- Patuxent Research Refuge: Open turkey hunting on acres already open to other hunting and expand existing migratory game bird, upland game, and big game hunting.
New York
- Shawangunk Grasslands National Wildlife Refuge: Open black bear and turkey hunting and expand existing white-tailed deer hunting to new acres.
Oregon
- Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge: Expand existing waterfowl hunting opportunities to new acres.
Pennsylvania
- Erie National Wildlife Refuge: Open mute swan, feral hog, weasel, and porcupine hunting and expand existing sport fishing to new acres.
Rhode Island
- Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge: Open coyote, fox, and white-tailed deer hunting for the first time.
South Carolina
- Ernest F. Hollings ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge: Expand methods of take to include crossbow for archery white-tailed deer hunting.
Virginia
- Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge: Open upland game and turkey hunting on new acres and acres already open to other hunting and expand existing big game and waterfowl hunting.
- James River National Wildlife Refuge: Open migratory bird hunting.
- Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge: Open waterfowl hunting on acres already open to other hunting.
- Wallops Island National Wildlife Refuge: Open migratory game bird and upland game hunting for the first time.
Washington
- Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge: Open turkey hunting for the first time.
